Reproductive Mental Health Resources

The following organizations provide education, peer support, and other resources related to reproductive mental health. These external resources are provided for informational purposes and are not a substitute for individualized medical care.

Immediate and Urgent Support

  • National Maternal Mental Health Hotline: Pregnant and postpartum individuals and their families can call or text 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262) for free, confidential support from trained counselors 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Support is available in English and Spanish, with interpreter services for more than 60 additional languages.
  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 for free, confidential crisis support available 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the United States.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Support

  • Postpartum Support International: PSI offers information, provider referrals, peer support, and more than 50 free online support groups for people experiencing mental health concerns during pregnancy, postpartum, pregnancy loss, and early parenthood.

    PSI HelpLine: Call 1-800-944-4773 and press 1 for Spanish or 2 for English. Text HELP to 800-944-4773 in English or 971-203-7773 in Spanish. The PSI HelpLine is not an emergency or crisis line.

  • PSI Resources for Fathers and Partners: Postpartum Support International provides education, peer support, and specialized resources for fathers and partners experiencing emotional difficulties during the perinatal period.

Medication and Breastfeeding Information

  • MotherToBaby: MotherToBaby provides evidence-based information about medications, vaccines, health conditions, substances, and other exposures during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • LactMed: This National Library of Medicine database provides research-based information about medications and other substances that may affect breastfeeding parents and infants.

Pregnancy Loss and Infertility

  • Pregnancy After Loss Support: PALS offers peer support, online communities, educational materials, and other resources for individuals and families navigating pregnancy or parenting after pregnancy, infant, or child loss.
  • RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association: RESOLVE provides education, advocacy, and free peer-led support groups for individuals and families experiencing infertility or pursuing other paths to parenthood.

Premenstrual and Hormone-Related Mood Symptoms

Perimenopause and Menopause

  • The Menopause Society: The Menopause Society offers evidence-based patient education about perimenopause, menopause, and healthy aging, as well as a searchable directory of menopause clinicians.

Education and Research

  • MGH Center for Women’s Mental Health: The Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Women’s Mental Health provides research-based information about psychiatric conditions and treatment considerations across pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, the menstrual cycle, and menopause.

No physician-patient relationship is established upon form completion. Completing or submitting this inquiry form does not establish a physician-patient relationship with Sunstone Psychiatry for Women or its psychiatrists. Submission of this form does not guarantee acceptance into the practice, scheduling of an appointment, or receipt of psychiatric services. All inquiries are reviewed individually to determine whether the practice may be an appropriate fit. A physician-patient relationship is established only after completion of an initial evaluation and mutual agreement between the patient and psychiatrist to proceed with care.

Geographic requirement. To receive services through our practice, you must be physically located within Pennsylvania at the time of each appointment. If you are not currently located in Pennsylvania, we are unfortunately unable to provide care at this time.

Response time. We review inquiries during regular business hours and aim to respond within two business days. Submission of this form does not guarantee a response if our practice is not accepting new patients or does not appear to be an appropriate fit at this time.

Financial responsibility. Sunstone Psychiatry for Women is a self-pay, out-of-network practice. Payment is due at the time of service. By submitting this form, you acknowledge that you have read and understand our self-pay model.

Regarding intake inquiry:If, after reviewing your inquiry, we feel a brief introductory call would be helpful to determine fit, we may contact you to schedule one. The introductory call is intended solely to determine whether the practice may be a good fit. It is not a clinical evaluation, and no diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or prescriptions will be provided.
