About Sunstone Psychiatry for Women
For Women, By Women
Every woman carries a story. Behind Sunstone are women dedicated to helping patients navigate theirs. At Sunstone Psychiatry for Women, we provide thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric care that honors each woman’s lived experience.
We created Sunstone Psychiatry for Women to offer specialized care that recognizes the unique ways hormonal health, reproductive experiences, life transitions, and mental well-being intersect throughout a woman’s life.
Why We Founded Sunstone
Sunstone was founded on the desire to offer care that feels both personal and purposeful.
After years of working together at Main Line Health’s Women’s Emotional Wellness Center in Pennsylvania, Jessica Benson, MD, and Morgan Lewis, DO, developed a shared passion for helping women navigate complex emotional, hormonal, and life transitions.
When the clinic unexpectedly closed, they chose not to part ways professionally. Instead, they built a new practice rooted in continuity of care, shared values, and a deep belief in the importance of women-centered mental health services.
Dr. Benson and Dr. Lewis envisioned a virtual practice where women could receive expert psychiatric treatment while still experiencing the connection, collaboration, and individualized care they value in clinical work.
Today, Sunstone reflects that exact vision — a virtual practice where women throughout Pennsylvania can access psychiatric support tailored to life stages such as young adulthood, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, perimenopause, and beyond.
“Our mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care that honors the whole woman — mind, body, and life experience. We are committed to creating a safe, thoughtful, and collaborative space where women feel heard, supported, and empowered to heal, grow, and thrive through every stage of life.”

Meet the Team
Morgan Lewis, DO
Dr. Morgan Lewis began her career in emergency psychiatry, spending three years on the faculty of Temple University Hospital’s Crisis Response Center, where she taught residents and medical students how to hold space for people in their most unsettled moments.
She grew up in Bryn Mawr, PA, studied biology at Lehigh University, and earned her medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where her training strengthened her conviction: you can’t care for a mind apart from the body it lives in.
She completed her psychiatry residency at Temple and stayed on as faculty, where she received the Marie J. Mignogna, MD Faculty Award for excellence in teaching. She later spent four years at Main Line Health’s Women’s Emotional Wellness Center, where her passion for women’s health shaped the direction of her career. Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she brings more than a decade of clinical experience.
She finds balance through painting, gardening, and cooking; grounding herself in daily movement, fresh air, and whole foods. She and her husband were anatomy lab partners in medical school, today, they share a young son, a lively home full of pets, and evenings built around a family-made dinner and a good documentary.
Jessica Benson, MD
Dr. Jessica Benson brings both clinical expertise and genuine warmth to her practice of psychiatry. Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, she studied psychology at Washington University in St. Louis before earning her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine. She then completed her psychiatry residency at Temple University Hospital, where she pursued additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy—gaining a deeper appreciation for the nuanced interplay between one’s past and present emotional life.
Following residency, Dr. Benson joined Main Line Health’s Women’s Emotional Wellness Center, where her interest in reproductive psychiatry grew into a defining focus of her career. Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she brings together evidence-based psychiatric care with a thoughtful, nurturing approach that considers the psychological, relational, and lifestyle factors influencing each patient’s mental health.
To recharge, Dr. Benson leans into her love of animals and nature, often found walking along the Schuylkill River or cuddling her ten-pound miniature dachshund, Daisy. She also enjoys bird watching, jigsaw puzzles, reading a good mystery novel, and exploring the country’s national parks.
Meet the Physicians Behind Sunstone Psychiatry
Our Clinical Collaboration with The Postpartum Stress Center
Sunstone Psychiatry for Women is proud to collaborate with The Postpartum Stress Center, a nationally recognized psychotherapy practice founded by Karen Kleiman, MSW, LCSW, and specializing in perinatal mental health. Together, our practices support coordinated psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care when appropriate and with each patient’s consent.
The Postpartum Stress Center, LLC, founded in 1988 by Karen Kleiman, is a pioneering psychotherapy practice specializing in perinatal mental health and has been serving women and families for more than three decades. Its mission extends through the Karen Kleiman Training Center, which offers professional education and advanced clinical training for maternal mental health providers. The Center provides individual and couples therapy, support groups, and expert care for pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, serving as a trusted resource for individuals and families seeking specialized support. Beyond perinatal care, it also offers a full range of psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan.
