Fees & Payment
Sunstone Psychiatry for Women is an out-of-network, self-pay practice. Payment is due at the time of service. Upon request, we are happy to provide a superbill that patients may submit to their insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Initial Psychiatric Evaluation (60 minutes)
$660
Your initial evaluation is an opportunity for us to get to know you and understand your concerns, goals, and relevant medical, psychiatric, and social history. Together, we will complete a comprehensive evaluation and discuss individualized treatment recommendations, which may include medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle strategies, or additional evaluation as appropriate.
Extended Initial Psychiatric Evaluation (90 minutes)
$910
This extended initial evaluation is designed for individuals with more medically or psychiatrically complex histories who may benefit from additional time. The visit includes the same comprehensive psychiatric evaluation as our 60-minute option, while allowing for a more in-depth review of prior treatment, medical history, diagnostic considerations, and individualized treatment planning.
Follow-Up (25 minutes)
$330
Follow-up appointments are designed to monitor your progress, review symptoms, and assess your response to treatment. We will discuss the benefits, risks, and potential side effects of medications when applicable, make treatment adjustments as needed, and incorporate supportive psychotherapy, education, and lifestyle recommendations to help you achieve your treatment goals.
Extended Follow-Up (50 Minutes)
$510
Extended follow-up appointments are designed for patients who would prefer or benefit from additional time with their psychiatrist. These visits allow for a more comprehensive review of progress, symptoms, and response to treatment, as well as time to address concerns related to mental health, physical health, work, relationships, or other life circumstances. We will discuss the benefits, risks, and potential side effects of medications when applicable, make treatment adjustments as needed, and incorporate supportive psychotherapy, education, problem-solving, and individualized lifestyle recommendations.
Why We Are a Self-Pay Practice
We have chosen not to participate with insurance plans so that we can provide highly personalized, physician-led care without many of the limitations imposed by insurance companies. This allows us to spend more time with patients, maintain smaller caseloads, prioritize clinical decision-making over insurance requirements, and tailor treatment plans to each individual’s needs.
Many insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits. We encourage patients to contact their insurance carrier to learn whether they have out-of-network coverage, what their out-of-network deductible may be, and what percentage of services may be eligible for reimbursement. While reimbursement cannot be guaranteed, many patients receive partial reimbursement for services after submitting a superbill.
Additional Information
Appointment length and frequency are determined collaboratively based on clinical needs and treatment goals. We are committed to providing personalized, thoughtful care and will recommend the appointment type and treatment schedule that best supports each patient’s needs.
Fees are subject to periodic review and may be adjusted at the discretion of the treating clinician. Any fee changes will be communicated in advance.
To our returning patients: we will honor the rates discussed at the time of our last appointment.
